There are approximately 936 weeks from the time a child is born until they grow up, graduate, and move on to whatever’s next. But each week in the life of a child or teenager is unique. Kids are constantly changing. And yet, we believe there is immeasurable potential tucked away in these early years of a person’s life. That’s why the phrase, “it’s just a phase” is so important.
Rather than implying that each phase is a time we must simply endure, we think that knowing what comes with every phase is so important because it helps us parent intentionally while discipling our children through each phase with the BIG picture in mind:
How we can teach our children about Jesus through each phase?
This is why we are excited to announce our new Phase Wall, located in the Family Ministry Check-In area.
You’ll find two things: Phase Summaries and Phase Guides.
Phase Summaries include a brief description of the phase, growth & developmental insights, simple techniques for influencing a kid's mind and heart, and a roadmap for discipleship.
Phase Guides are more like a book and go into more detail of each phase than the summaries. They share concise and interactive information that simplifies what parents need to know about each phase of a kids life and gives them the opportunity to discover more about their children— so they can make the most of every phase.
Each phase guide gives parents pointers on having conversations about sexual integrity, healthy habits, technology and faith that are appropriate for the given phase their children are in.
The Phase Summaries and Guides are a combination of personal experience, academic research, and gatherings of leaders and educational experts from across the child development spectrum. They were created in partnership with Parent Cue and designed to help you parent your child through every year.
