What is the Equipping Community?
In 2014, Our Elders and Staff had a growing sensitivity to equip our house church leaders with greater intentionality. Our elders commissioned a small discovery team to learn from others and glean what would be best for Apex. What we discovered is an expression of God's family just for leaders to be encouraged, equipped and empowered. This expression of God's family is called our Equipping Community. The Equipping Community is a relational space for our house church leaders to gather as family to learn from one another in how we live as kingdom family on mission. There two vital components: Immersions and Coaching Huddles.
At Immersions, the Equipping Community meets for one weekend every six-months to discover proven Jesus' way of making and multiplying disciples, communities, and leaders in order to launch kingdom movement:
Immersion 1: Making and Multiplying Disciples - October 27-29, 2017
Immersion 2: Maturing Missional House Churches - Spring 2018
Immersion 3: Multiplying Missional Leaders - Fall 2018
Immersion 4: Launching Missional Discipleship Movements - Spring 2019
To bring diverse perspectives and seed multiplication, we encourage that each house church bring at least a 3-person team to the immersions including shepherds, spouses and others in training. We value that each house church has its own unique features and diverse needs, so we don't tell you exactly what to do. Seeking the Spirit and listening to input from others, we will each prayerfully consider what God has for us in the next 6-months. We will share what we believe God is planning for our house churches and celebrate as we are commissioned back home. But we know that we have a tendency to get excited only to quickly forget what God taught us when we return.
In Coaching Huddles, we gather weekly online as smaller groups of leaders to reflect, encourage, and seek the Spirit as we live out the reality and freedom of the gospel. We provide additional training and support to you and help you keep gospel-perspective while you train others and live into your 6-moht plans.
To learn about the Equipping Community and how it helps us strategically accomplish our mission and vision check out our video from the Leadership Summit and start around 29:30.

There is a two-level underground parking garage beneath the library with access off of St. Clair Street. Street parking is also available and free after 6PM on Fridays and on weekends.
The entirety of this training is provided at no cost to you. We want to invest into you as shepherds and we already know how much you invest into your flocks. A love offering will be taken-up at the Immersion for those who would like to help in covering costs of food and facility rental. If you would like to go ahead and make a cash or check donation, please designate your giving to “HC Training” and place it in any giving box at both Apex Kettering and Apex Xenia.
Childcare is provided in a secured setting at the Dayton Metro Library Main Campus for children ages 12 and under on a first-come, first served basis. When there is no vacancy and all the slots have been filled, we will remove childcare from this form. We are glad to provide you childcare, but we encourage all parents and guardians of children to consider asking others from your HC to watch your kids or employing a babysitter a so you can fully engage in the weekend.
We are excited to share that Dayton's own Table Thirty Three will be catering our lunches during the immersions for lunches on both Saturday and Sunday. Until then, we encourage you to bless this local restaurant and check out their phenomenal menu. Please note that Table 33 cannot accommodate allergens for food due to being a full-service caterer and restaurant. We ask that you provide your own lunch and snacks for you or your child if needed. Thank you for your understanding.
SATURDAY EVENING ACTIVITY
There will be an evening activity on Saturday night to begin putting into practice what you are learning about discipleship. We won't tell you all the details, but know it involves going to your favorite neighborhood restaurant and having a meal. Since you will be on your own childcare will not be provided for that event. However they are more than welcome to join in on the fun!
Professional security services will also be onsite during all hours of the Immersion, including when we are in the building before and after library hours. They will be aware of our children in the building in addition to our own childcare team.
