TITLE:  Operations Team Lead

SUMMARY OF ROLE:  The Operations Team Lead is responsible for the administration and general oversight of services supporting the Apex network.  Incumbent will lead a team of functional directors and support the Apex Network in implementation of its mission where every Apex member is engaged in making disciples who are making disciples (Mathew 28:19,20; Acts 1:8 and II Tim 2:2).

HOURS PER WEEK: 40 hours per week

REPORTS TO: A network Elder concurrently serving on the Administration Team


ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SERVICES received per week: 10 hrs. per week

WORK LOCATION: Apex Kettering 


50% - Works in conjunction with the Administration Team to manage and provide general oversight to:

  • General accounting and financial planning 

  • Legal compliance with federal, state and local laws

  • Human resources (e.g. oversee benefits, employment policies, personnel records, etc.) 

  • Information and media technology 

  • Facility management  

  • Security and safety 

20% - Manage team performance which includes routinely monitoring and evaluating effectiveness, providing and soliciting feedback, and provide ongoing mentorship/development for all direct reports. 

15% - Regularly engages and supports other Apex Teams including: 

  • Equipping Team

  • Family Ministry Team

  • Gathering Team

  • Missions Team

5% - Participates as an ex-officio member (non-voting/consensus) in regular Elder Board meetings.  

10% - Other duties and projects as assigned 


Three (3) plus years of direct supervisory experience and/or leading teams. 

  • Demonstrated commitment to make disciples of Christ who make disciples  

  • A strong business acumen as demonstrated through general knowledge of the following operational areas: 

    • Financial/Budget Management 

    • Accounting Software (i.e. QuickBooks)

    • Physical Plant

    • Security/Safety 

    • Information Technology and Social Media 

    • Contracting

    • Human Resources/Employee Relations 

    • Non-Profit Legal Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration/management. 

  • Demonstrated public speaking and preaching capability. 

  • Project management experience.


  • A member of Apex Community Church (i.e. confession of faith; actively involved in a House Church)

  • Consistent spiritual and moral character/lifestyle.

  • Agreement with the doctrinal statements of Apex Community Church.

  • On a personal (unpaid) basis is routinely engaged in making disciples who are making disciples
